Tracking and ensuring space multi-domain integration, space’s role in future MDI

Space has become an indispensable domain for modern military operations, providing critical capabilities such as communication, navigation, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The convergence of commercial, military, and civil operations demands multidomain command and control to navigate varying standards and assurance levels. Importantly, the intersection of defence, commercial, and civil sectors introduces a nuanced perspective on risk inheritance, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive understanding of risk levels across different domains. This session will explore the critical intersection of space innovation and Multi-Domain Integration (MDI) in national security and defence. The session will also address the practical steps required to transition from theory to action, including nurturing national skills, securing supply chains, and safeguarding space assets, envisioning a future where a flexible and programmable data fabric becomes a significant enabler of high-tempo military operations.
