The Future of MilSatCom

Space is a contested, contested and increasingly a warfighting environment. The way that we use space as the fifth domain and the way in which we protect and defend our spacecraft is evolving rapidly as the number and type of threats continues to evolve. As sovereignty becomes more valued, Airbus wants to share the vision for the future of Military Satellite Communication and how we deliver the next generation of capability to armed forces around the world.

Airbus Defence and Space has been building spacecraft in the UK for the last 70 years, starting with the UK’s first sovereign launch vehicle the Blue Streak to the latest generation of Skynet 6A. Airbus has been building a wide-range of spacecraft from those that provide television and data to people around the world to spaceships which have travelled billions of kilometers to explore our universe. Airbus has also been supporting the UK MOD and the militaries of countries around the world by delivering sovereign Military Satellite Communication capability, including fifty years of providing Skynet constellations and services to provide critical communications to Armed Forces personnel around the world. Airbus is building on this proud heritage of British innovation and proven capability with new satellite architectures, enhanced payloads and new thinking.
