Speaker profile

Dr Kathy Bass is Deputy Director for Space Strategy in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). Her responsibilities include driving implementation of the National Space Strategy in close partnership with the Ministry of Defence, and sponsoring the work of the UK Space Agency.

Kathy has a PhD in ecology and began her career as a scientific adviser in Defra.  Kathy has since worked in the UK Space Agency and BEIS, as well as a recent secondment to the New Zealand Government.
